Barwa City Project, Doha, Qatar
The master plan and the design of the project have been developed to include leisure,
sports and civic amenities and, with considerable landscaping will make this
development a remarkable living place for residents and visitors.
A modern architectural and urban design approach will incorporate top quality
residential units ranging from freestanding luxury villas to 1, 2 and 3 bedroom
apartments in apartment blocks to accommodate a population of 35 000 residents.
A large portion of the city will be dedicated to open landscaped space with walking
trails, sports facilities and play areas within walking distance of all the residential
units.

ALAQARIA commissioned AECOM for the design
and construction management of this major
community housing project being developed in the
industrial zone of Al Khor which will provide the
urban fabric and infrastructural requirements for a
population of 25 000 residents.
1280 residential units comprising 3 and 4 bedroom
villas, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments in apartment
blocks together with infrastructure, roads and
parking will be set in pleasant landscaped
surroundings.
Additional facilities such as schools, commercial
and administration buildings, a mosque, health
club and communal multi-purpose hall will be
provided to cater for the educational, commercial
and recreational needs of the community.
Construction of the project, with a total building
area of 650 000 square metres, commenced in
2007 and completed in 2010.
