Barwa Retail Gardens Mall in Phase 2 of Barwa City Project, Doha, Qatar
Another Mega project with a TBA of 240,000 sq.m. designed to be one of the largest
shopping malls in the Gulf. Conceptual design by RTKL and the rest of pre contract
services by AECOM. My involvement was as a design manager, to coordinate with
all disciplines and oversee the work of sub consultants. The project started in 2008
and is currently on hold.
Barwa Commercial Avenue, Doha, Qatar
Barwa Commercial Avenue, an approximately 9 kilometre long mixed use
development project located in Ain Khalid, comprises of five typical buildings of
modular construction combining residential, showrooms, retail shops and offices
interspersed with landmarks and plaza’s with a total Built-up Area
of 790 000 square metres and construction value of US$ 1,8 billion. Project started
in 2007 and is scheduled for completion in 2012.
Shopping mall is a part of the Al Waab Plazza Development with a TBA of 90,000 sq.m.
It is designed to be a part of the new development and to serve as one of the land marks
in the area. The project is in the conceptual stage and awaiting client’s approval for further
design. Started in 2011 and scheduled for completion in 2014.
