NIS-Refinerys Office building in Belgrade, Serbia.
NIS
Refinery's Office building in Belgrade, Serbia. The building was completed
in June 1998.
~ 5000m²
I was involved in the project
as
a designer architect responsible for delivering original and creative designs
raging from pre design to design and construction documentation. Producing all
necessary documentation for municipal approval and tender documentation –
specifications.

Although it was my first involvement in a large scale project I succeeded in producing an original architectural design that was influenced by deconstructive philosophy.
There was an architectural design competition with invited teams of architects representing their companies, and they all gave preliminary design ideas of the building. My design was chosen as a winning design.
The project was divided in to three phases of which only the first phase was completed. The first phase was the reconstruction of facades and building another floor on top of the old building raising it for another floor.
The top floor - newly constructed was designed as an open plan office covered
in triple safety glass curtain wall with safety foil and segmented lowered
ceiling to control the excessive sunlight.
Second phase involved reconstruction of the office buildings interior. The third phase was planed as last and involved reconstruction of adjacent buildings including: a large laboratory, restaurant and kitchen with storage facilities.
